Building a House! July 30th 2006

July 30th. We couldn't believe the progress of our house! We now have a front door, though it hasn't been stained yet. Come on in and have a look at the Droge home. With the rate its going we'll be moving in in no time! Posted by Picasa

Lets move in! The excitement this week is it looks like the roof is about ready to be shingled and the house is plumbed, we even have our tubs in the house. We also have interior walls, and windows. The house is coming along great! Posted by Picasa

Just for fun, the other day we drove around to see the neighborhood and this is what we found... This is two blocks behind our house. I believe the street signs say Middle St. and Nowhere St! Posted by Picasa

Here is the family room portion of the downstairs. This is about how it will look when the house is all finished. We will be hosting indoor soccer tournaments for all who are interested! Posted by Picasa

Here is our fireplace!  Posted by Picasa

Annette Pond (Michelle's mother) models the side of our house. This is the side that faces the street. That bump nook is the dining room nook. Posted by Picasa

Here is the garage! Posted by Picasa

The master bathroom. The jetted corner tub is being covered up by a piece of carpet and a board. Posted by Picasa

One of the excitements was to see the tubs here. This is the bathroom just off of the kitchen. Posted by Picasa

This is looking into the backyard from the kitchen door. This shot is a little bit deceiving because this is 4 houses backyards: everyone gets a pizza slice of the yard. Posted by Picasa

This is the laundry room. Right as you walk in from the garage, on the right side is this room. Posted by Picasa

This is a shot of the kitchen from the view of the bedrooms. On the left is the sink in the corner, and then the back door. Grandma was admiring the blinds that are inside the glass of the door. You have glass on each side with the blinds in the middle. What a great idea, we won't ever have to dust these ones! Posted by Picasa

Here we are hanging out in the basement. Posted by Picasa

We were excited to see windows and the roof prepped to be shingled. Posted by Picasa

This is one of the front bedrooms, with a nice big window. Posted by Picasa

Here is a look of the living room from the kitchen. We were excited to see the fireplace in. Posted by Picasa

Here is some of the family checking out the basement. My uncle Dan, Grandma, and my Dad are in awe... or maybe its just hot. Posted by Picasa

This is a shot of the back of the house. To get an idea of the layout, here is what the windows are from left to right: The first is one of the master bedrooms, the large one and small one together are the living room, then there is the back door, and finally one of the corner kitchen windows. Posted by Picasa

Building a House! July 23, 2006

July 23rd. On our way back home from Bear Lake we decided to stop in and see how the house was doing. On the Tuesday the 18th, Michelle had driven by and saw that they had started the framing and we had walls, so we were pretty excited to see where it was at now. We were able to go and walk around inside and visualize where all the rooms were and everything. None of the interior framing has been done, so it is just a wide open space, but it is so fun to see a house!! It is so fun to see it take shape and progress so quickly. To see how far it has progressed in just a couple weeks, I put a picture in of where it was 2 weeks ago, before they started the framing.

The excitement this week is that the walls are almost completely done and the roof is being started. All the trusses are up and almost covered. Posted by Picasa

Here is the view out onto the street from the garage entry. Someday everyone will have their landscaping done and it will look like a neighborhood! Posted by Picasa

This is me dictating where walls and things are going to be.  Posted by Picasa

This is the interior of the home without any interior walls. The picture is being taken from right where the stairs start going downstairs. We are looking at the two bedrooms and the bathroom. Posted by Picasa

This is a look into the master suite area without any interior walls. At the far left of this picture you can see on of the master bedroom windows and at the far right of the picture you can see the small bathroom window area. Posted by Picasa

This is a look at the kitchen. The two windows will be above the kitchen sink. Posted by Picasa
