The Pond Family Photo Shoot

It's been awhile since we got together for pictures in a somewhat formal manner. So after the afternoon conference session we went up the canyon to get some pictures with the great fall colors. The only problem was that we were all looking in sun. We tried to look as good as we could, but no matter what it seemed that someone couldn't handle the heat! it was a fun time anyway. Some of these turned out really good.

Enjoy! Posted by Picasa

This was Ralph's idea. Hey lets come get in the partial shade. It was a good idea except for the getting in the parital shade part. Posted by Picasa

Michelle is the Cake Master!!

What a fun idea! Michelle decided to become the cake master by taking a 4-week cake decorating class with Kristin, another 2nd grade teacher at Hobble Creek. The class was at Michael's and she had a lot of fun. It turned out that there were a couple of other sisters in the ward that took the class too, so it ended up being even more fun! The way the class was set up was that each week they would take an already-frosted-cake and then decorate it in class. Michelle went out and bought all the fun tools and stuff to make the cakes. Dave was excited for the task set before him. He must eat each cake each week! Posted by Picasa

Cake 1--Here is the first cake made. This was done after week 1. Week 1 consisted only of talk and not making. Michelle wanted to test a cake out to see how she could do. So here it is. The next three were each done in class. Posted by Picasa

Cake 2--This is the first cake made in class. Made some fun leaves and filled in designs. Posted by Picasa

Cake 3. They learned a whole bunch of fun things to do borders and designs all over the cake Posted by Picasa

Cake 4

The final week they learned how to make roses. This cake was Chocolate with a yummy candy bar middle! mmmm. Posted by Picasa

Not going anywhere for awhile?

In the middle of nowhere, Elder Greg Droge stands in the middle of the road which leads to nowhere and takes an amazing shot. Pictures like these make us ponder on two things: how did this world get to be so beautiful, and who the heck are you trying to teach the gospel to if you are on a road that is in the middle of nowhere that leads to nowhere?! Posted by Picasa

Greg get's inspirational

On a nice day in October 2005 or sometime thereabouts, Elder Greg Droge sits down to ponder on the meaning of life. This picture is here to inspire, and help us all find that deeper meaning to an otherwise meaningless life! Posted by Picasa

Dear family,
Im doing great. Its tough, but we are having some success. That family got baptized! Man, that was stressful. The guy is so cool. His name is Bonifacio and he just wanted this so bad. Last saturday night they had troubles cause after we left their house, some catholics went over and tried to confuse them. well, that sunday she (Maria Luisa) didnt want to go to church cause they had talked some crap. It was so cool cause the refief society presidente and two other sisters went over and talked her into it. They went to testimony meeting and Maria said that during one of the testimonies she felt something really special. We went to see them after church and he seemed a little down cause he didnt know if his wife was up to it. After talking to them for a little bit they told us that it is completely different talking to us than to the catholics. When the catholics go to their house they just feel confusion, but when we go they feel joy and peace. I thought that was cool. So they did end up getting baptized and afterwards he said that it was the best decision of his life and he was just all smiles in his confirmation. We were going to have another baptism this week, but she couldnt get in the water cause it was just a bad time of the month! Funny huh? It really grossed me out when they told me that.
Everything is good. Thanks for all the letters and support.
Love,
Greg
