Here is the family at the bottom of the cave. Only two places in the world have true darkness. This picture is with the lights on. From left to right is Dave, Michelle, Heather, Nicole, Ralph, Brandon, Kimberly, Jennifer, Annette.

Heather and Jen pose as they are warming themselves up. The cave is 40 degrees year round. So after an hour it was time to assume the fetal position and try to get some blood flowing.

Finally, it's time to get out of this cave. There we are down below as we work our way along the descent. 

Orlando Vacation June 2006

As a graduation present and before I started work at Hill AFB, we decided to take a vacation to Orlando. We had a lot of fun, so we are posting a bunch of pictures to document our trip. We travelled all day both Saturdays and have one thing to say about that: don't fly America West--every flight was late and we ended up stranded in Phoenix for a night when we were coming home. We arrived in Orlando late Saturday night, and everything went smoothly from then on.
We started off on Sunday going to Sea World. We even got a little wet when it started to rain.
On Wednesday we decided to go to a movie after the water park, so we went and used some movie passes from Dave's old work and saw the Da Vinci Code. During the previews the projector was having troubles and we couldn't see much on the screen. They fixed the problem by the time the movie started but because of the hassle they gave us all free passes, so on Thursday we went back and saw Over the Hedge.

At the underwater viewing tank, baby Shamu was very friendly and came right up for some photos. It was so cool! 

Michelle in front of the Sea Lion cage. Or are they seals? We're not too sure. But they are cute... We even saw a little baby one, but the picture didn't turn out he was hiding behind his mother. 

Here is Dave by the Alligator cage. I was hoping someone would fall into this one so we could see some live action! 

Monday was Busch gardens. The one here in Florida is African-themed so it was a combination of awesome rides and a wild life preserve. It was our favorite park of the trip. 

They have a full safari section at Busch gardens. You can take a number of rides to see the Serengeti plain and here is a walk through part of the park where a lot of the animals come to eat. This is a hungry Hyena waiting for his ball of beef to be dropped into his cage. 

This was by our favorite ride, the Mantu. It was awesome because it's rated one of the top ten roller coasters in the world, but there was no line, so we rode on it twice in a row without having to wait. 

Tuesday we went to Epcot. As you enter the park you walk underneath the famous Epcot ball shown in the background.

In Epcot's world showcase, China had some amazing acrobats. Shown here is a bunch of little girls showing off their "bucket skills." Two girls are wearing those buckets like snails and the other three are jumping around on top.

Then on Wednesday we went to Disney's Blizzard Beach, a water park. We didn't take any pictures, why?:
a) -- we were too white and didn't want to scare you and
b) -- the camera was in a locker all day.

On Thursday we went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We actually spent most of the day at Islands of Adventure, but ran in to catch a few rides at Universal.

Oh no a T-Rex! 

MGM Studios! Friday morning we arrived here and found out it was Star Wars weekend. Perfect! 

They did a 20 second movie production at MGM and I was volunteered by Michelle to participate. 

Is that Luke Skywalker, "Why aren't you at your post?" It was cool to see all the characters walking around and getting their pictures taken. They even had the original actors at booths signing autographs.
