This was Sammy's first experience with ice-cream. He loves it just as much as I do. Watch out Cold Stone, we're raising your next customer!
Like Father, like son. Dave ALWAYS has a pen in his pocket (Does anyone know an engineer who doesn't carry a pen?). He's always on the lookout for a new-and-improved-multi-functioning-yet-cool pen. This is one of Sammy's features that Dave is particularly fond of. Whenever he gets fussy, we give him a pen and he happily munches away. Perhaps this is why he's got 8 teeth at 8 months!
Pounding on the Piano
I'm starting piano lessons really early. He's going to be a child genius.
Practicing Push-ups
Uh-oh...Sammy's going mobile! Time to start child-proofing our house. Whenever we lay Sammy down on the ground he rolls over and does a couple push-ups.
This is one of the cutest things ever! Grandpa would growl at Sammy and Sammy would growl back. They did it for about about 2 minutes back and forth. Or course, by the time I realized what he was doing (and found my camera), Sammy was tired of doing it. Sigh.
Chewing on the Cell Phone
Another life saver when we're out of the house and have no toys. Sammy loves chewing on the cell phone. This was an experiment in the name of science to see how 8-month-olds react when a phone rings.
A particularly endearing quality. Sammy loves my hair. He "strokes" it while I feed him. It's a definite bonding moment.
Talking in the Car
Sammy loves to "talk." He is very vocal, especially when he thinks he's alone. Sorry, you can't see him in the video...he's on the left side of the screen.
Again, we're training him young. If he's going to grow into his genes, he's got to be prepared to be a basketball STAR! He loves trying to eat his basketball. Mmmm, rubber and plastic. Hey, you've gotta start somewhere.
This was the very first time I saw Sammy actually get food from his hands into his mouth. Usually he just squishes it and throws it on the floor out of frustration. But he loves trying, and that's part of the fun.
Tearing up Paper
The newest playtime activity. All Sammy will be getting for his birthday is a couple of old magazines.

What a stinkin' cute little guy! I saw your comment, so I thought I'd hop over and take a look! It looks like you're doing great! What a cute family! I looked at your school web page too. I used to teach 2nd grade as well! I taught for 3 years and it was a great experience. I'm going to put you on my link list so I can always keep tabs on you and your fam!
These are too fun. How do you get the video on here? I love Sammy eating ice cream and his wide open mouth "Give me more!".
We're available the 21st and 28th of this month if you guys are interested!
Sammy is darling! I especially loved his singing during his amazing piano performance. And I don't blame him for loving ice cream so much. It's one of my favorites too!
if our kids weren't so obviously of different racial backgrounds i would swear they were related!! this is pretty much a day in the life of tyson as well.
we should totally play date!
he has such beautiful eyes.
Way cute! Emery loves pens, too. She's fascinated with them and loves to take lids off and put them back on. She also loves to write. She puts them in her mouth, too, but doesn't chew like Sammy does...she still doesn't have any teeth! By the way, the picture of me doing the splits pregnant was with Emery...don't worry. We still have two, and only two.

I've been putting off reading this post because I want Lucy to watch all these videos with me - but I so often blog when she's asleep! Today I'm going to remember while she's awake! We've got to introduce our kiddos somehow, right??!
So then I'll comment again...after we watch =)
These videos are great. Sarah and Ethan both love watching them over and over. I think they will get to know their little cousin even though they are so far away. Sarah calls them the voices. She always says "I want to see the voices". That means she wants to watch the videos of Sammy. They both have probably watched them a dozen times. Keep posting more video clips.
Shawn
LOVED all of this!! LOVED it.
